"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." 1

"First Assembly" is a diverse, growing group of people who believe in God, the Almighty, who made heaven and earth and all that are in them, and who is absolutely holy, all-wise, all-powerful, glorious, merciful and just. We believe in the Bible, God-breathed, which is God's unique Word given to all mankind, revealing God himself, and what are his just claims and demands on us. The Bible also reveals the true nature of mankind, that in pride, rebellion and life-long sin we have demeaned Him in thought, word and deed, and acted traitorously .
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who, as the Bible tells us, by the love and grace of God the Father came in the flesh to, by his death on a cross, deliver sinners form his just wrath. “It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. . .”2 said the Apostle Paul.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the holy Trinity, who, as the Bible reveals, was sent to believers on earth after Jesus rose from death and ascended to God the Father. By the Holy Spirit's power effective in our lives we are able to resist sin, and love God above all else.
As such we are a local church, part of the universal body of the redeemed of Jesus Christ. We are one with those world-wide who trust in Christ, and one with those before us who are now in in the splendor of heaven.
"First Assembly" is a protestant, evangelical, pentecostal church.

We are protestant, meaning that we believe in the Scriptures (Bible) as our sole and sufficient revelation and guide from God. There is no council, bishop, or tradition that usurps the supreme authority of Scripture to rule and enlighten us.
|
|
| • |
We are evangelical. Because of the indescribable worth of the Gospel entrusted to us, we are debtors to all mankind who have not yet heard of it, who are ignorant of the peace of sins forgiven, of reconciliation with God, and the glorious prospect of eternal life with him offered by this "good news of Jesus Christ." We are as beggars who have found overflowing benevolence telling other beggars about its bounty.

|
| • |
We are pentecostal. In the past the Holy Spirit was sent from heaven to be our comforter when Jesus ascended to heaven. And now, the Holy Spirit is constantly with us. He shepherds us, enlightens us, reveals Jesus to us, and keeps us. He also, as he pleases, gives us spiritual gifts and works miracles among us, and through us.
|
|
|
We are a church exuberant in our praise to God, struggling to overcome sin in our lives, loving of others both in our fellowship and outside it, and eager to share the good news with others, and anxiously waiting for the day when Jesus shall appear with great glory to take us home with him forever.
If you reside in our area, whether you now trust in Jesus Christ or not, our doors and hearts are opened to you.

"Either sin is with you, lying on your shoulders, or it is lying on Christ, the Lamb of God. Now if it is lying on your back, you are lost; but if it is resting on Christ, you are free, and you will be saved. Now choose what you want."
Martin Luther
